This school was established in 1947 A.D. in the period of Rana regime, when Mr. Dev Shamser was the Prime Minister of Nepal. It was named as ‘Kedar Aadhar Pathashala’ in the name of ‘Kedar’ who was known as ‘Guru’. In 1979 A.D. it was upgraded into Lower Secondary Level, then Secondary Level in 1996 A.D and after due to the increasing number of students it was upgraded into Higher Secondary Level in 2010 A.D. Later on by the policy and the decision of the Government of Nepal, it was formed as Secondary Level for Higher secondary Level. The official name of this school is ‘Shree Kedar Secondary School’. It is situated in densely populated area at Nechasalyan Rural Municipality in the southern part of Solukhumbu district. It has a large catchment area where the students come from different places of neighbouring districts Okhaldhunga, Khotang etc. Due to time demands, the desire of the students and parents, the School Management Committee (SMC) decided to take permission to run technical education and requested to the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology. And immediately it was permitted to run Technical Stream as Civil Engineering (class 9 to 12). Now, this school has been running into two streams General and Technical Stream.
Nearly, 1000 students, teacher staffs and stakeholders are involving in daily school’s activities and administrative work as well. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the school has been compelled to conduct online classes so school has planned to run online classes in near future.
